Back in 1984 the first day of Ramadan was June 1st, coincidentally the day I was born. Now the Arabic calendar is 11 days shorter than the Gregorian calendar meaning that Ramadan moves backwards through our calendar year by year. This means that while I turned 21 on June 1st this year, as of yesterday I turned 22 by the Arabic calendar!
Happy Birthday to me!
I can't wait for the year when they pass each other. I'll turn 25 by the Arabic calendar and then a month later I'll turn 24! Huzzah!
And just for the hilarity factor... read the description for this item on ebay.
